"Un Divo Encantador"

Relajado y de excelente humor, el cual se tradujo en sonoras carcajadas por cierto, así fue como nos encontramos a Urs Bühler, integrante del conocido cuarteto Il Divo, quien durante 15 minutos respondió una a una las preguntas de Al Día durante una entrevista telefónica desde Australia, el miércoles.

A sus 38 años, el artista quien cantará aquí la próxima semana junto a sus compañeros Carlos Marín, David Miller y Sébastien Izambard, se describe como un hombre pleno, deportista y creyente en la espiritualidad.

¿Qué conoce de Tiquicia?

Sé que es un lugar precioso. Mi novia los ha visitado, le encantó el Rain Forest y los animales. Yo sólo he estado de paso, por eso estoy muy emocionado de conocerlo. Lástima que no voy con más tiempo para disfrutar de todo.

Comenzó su carrera cantando heavy metal. ¿Lo sigue atrayendo ese género?

Sí, es cierto. Comencé a cantar a los 15 años con unos amigos, a los 17 ya tocaba en muchos lugares en Suiza, principalmente “covers”. Es mi música favorita, sólo escucho heavy metal y ópera. Pero no creo que pueda cantar en una banda de nuevo porque mi voz es más apta para el género clásico.

¿Quién es el divertido, el gruñón y el pacifista en el Il Divo?

(Se ríe). David es el feliz y ecuánime, quien hace el balance. No hay un gruñón, pero si tuviera que elegir a uno sería yo; soy el más serio o cerebral del grupo. Sébastien siempre tiene algo de drama en su vida y Carlos es el más ¡Pura Vida!.

La voz y la presencia de los Il Divo enamora al público, ¿usa esos atributos para encantar a una chica?

(Se ríe). Yo espero que sí contribuyan en algo.

¿Cómo suele relajarse?

Voy frecuentemente al gimnasio y levanto pesas. Ahorita me estoy concentrando en hacer “cardio”, también estoy empezando en “kick boxing”, que es un deporte que puedo practicar mientras estamos de gira. David y Sébastien juegan mucho tenis.

En dos años cumplirá 40, edad en la que los hombres suelen pasar por la crisis de la mediana edad. ¿Está listo?

(Se ríe). Me considero un hombre joven de corazón y cuerpo, eso sí, cuando estoy sentado en un café en Sydney (Australia) viendo los adolescentes pasar, me doy cuenta de que la juventud ahora es mucho menor que yo; pero yo todavía me siento joven. No creo que entre en la crisis (se ríe).

¿Qué compró con el primer cheque que ganó en Il Divo?

Le compré una moto a mi novia.

En el 2006 cantaron en la apertura del Mundial de Fútbol. ¿Le gusta ese deporte?

No soy gran fanático, pero sí recuerdo el partido Costa Rica-Alemania, también el de Francia-Italia. La vibra del estadio era algo realmente espectacular.

¿En qué cree Urs Bühler: cielo, demonio, Dios?

Fui criado como católico pero no soy muy activo en la religión. Soy una persona feliz que reconoce la suerte que he tenido en la vida. Sé lo importante que es ser una buena persona, conciente y responsable de mi prójimo y el mundo en el que vivo. Sé que mantener eso como parte de la espiritualidad es lo más importante en el mundo.

Relaxed and in high spirits, which resulted in loud laughter by some, that's how we met Urs Bühler, a member of the famous quartet Il Divo, who for 15 minutes answered them questions a day for a telephone interview from Australia, on Wednesday.

I know it's a beautiful place. My girlfriend has visited, loved the Rain Forest and animals. I've only been in passing, so I'm very excited to meet you. Too bad I will not have more time to enjoy it all.

You began your career singing heavy metal. Do you still attracting this kind?

Yes, indeed. I started singing at age 15 with friends, at 17 and played in many places in Switzerland, mainly "covers". It's my favorite music, just listen to heavy metal and opera. But I think I can sing in a band again because my voice is more suited to the classic genre.

Who is the fun, the grumpy and the pacifist in the Il Divo?

(Laughs). David is a happy and fair, who does the balance sheet. There is a grumpy, but if I had to choose one would be me, I'm the most serious and cerebral of the group. Sébastien always has some drama in her life and Jack is the most Pura Vida!.

The voice and the presence of Il Divo mesmerizes the audience, do you use these attributes to charm a girl?

(Laughs). I hope that you contribute something.

How do you usually relax?

I frequent the gym and lift weights. Right now I'm concentrating on doing "cardio", I am also starting to "kick boxing", which is a sport that I can practice while we're on tour. David and Sébastien play much tennis.

Turns 40 in two years, the age at which men usually pass through the midlife crisis. Are you ready?

(Laughs). I consider myself a young man of heart and body, yes, when I'm sitting in a cafe in Sydney (Australia) adolescents spend watching, I realize that youth is now far smaller than I, but I still feel young. I do not think that enters into crisis (laughs).

I bought a bike for my girlfriend.

I was raised Catholic but I am very active in religion. I'm a happy person who recognizes the luck I had in life. I know how important it is to be a good person, conscientious and responsible for my neighbor and the world they live. I know I keep that as part of spirituality is the most important thing in the world.

Q：Tixuicia(コスタリカの人がコスタリカのことをこう呼ぶ)についてご存知？

A：美しい国だそうですね。僕のガールフレンドが訪れたことがあり、熱帯雨林やそこの動物のことが大好きなんです。乗換えで通ったことあるだけなので、今回皆さんにお会いするのを楽しみにしています。残念なのは時間がなくて十分に見て回ることができないことです。

Q：ヘビーメタルからこの世界にはいったそうですが、まだそちらのほうにも興味がありますか？

A：はい。15歳のときに友人とバンドを組み、17歳の時にはスイスのいろんな場所で演奏していました。コピーが中心でしたが。大好きですよ。ヘビーメタルもオペラも。僕の声はやはりクラシックのほうが合うと思うけどまたバンドでも歌いたいですよ。

Q：イルディーヴォのなかでは、誰が、面白い人、気難しい人、まとめ役ですか？

A：(笑って)Davidはハッピーでフェアです。彼が皆のバランスを取っています。気難しいのは、選ぶとすれば僕かな。僕は真面目で理詰めなところがありますから。セブはいつもドラマチックで、カルロスは最高！だよ。

Q：Il Divoの歌声と容姿に観客は魅了されますが、その魅力を使って女の子を誘ったりします？

A；(笑って)応援してください。

Q：どうやってリラックスしているんですか？

A；よくジムへいってウエイトトレーニングしてます。カルディオエクササイズにはまっていますし、キックボクシング(エクササイズ？だと思うけど)もはじめました。ツアー中にできるｽﾎﾟｰﾂとしてやっているんですが。DavidとSebはよくテニスをしています。

Q：あと二年で40歳になりますね。中年の危機にさしかかるわけですが、準備はできてます？

(笑って)心身ともに自分は若いと思っていますよ。確かにシドニーのカフェで座っていたら、十代の子達を見てて、今の子たちは自分より若いなとおもいますが、まだまだ若いと感じてますし、危機にさしかかるとは思ってませんよ、(笑)

Q：Il Divoで貰った最初の収入で何を買いましたか？

A：彼女にバイク

Q：2006年にワールドカップで歌いましたが、サッカーは好き？

A：大ファンではないけど、コスタリカVSドイツ戦はよく覚えてますよ。フランスVSイタリアも。スタジアムの雰囲気が壮観でしたね。

Q：何を信じてます？天国？地獄？神？

A：カトリックで育ち、信じるものがあります。人生の幸運を信じられる幸せな人間です。よき人であることがいかに大切かわかっていますし、周りの人々、世界中の人々のことを真面目に考え、責任ある生き方をしたいと思っています。その様な気持ちを持つことが一番大事なことだとおもっています。
