Sarah Joy Miller

I was lucky enough to meet her and Geraldine at the Barcelona concert. Two beautiful women so different in style and height, but both stunning and both so generous with their time with the Il Divo fans. They spent the whole of the intermission talking to fans and having photos taken with Ingrid acting interpreter, Geraldine actually took our Forum Seb DVD Collection to give to him after the show which Ing and I really appreciated. We were getting worried that we might not have the opportunity to give it to Seb as we had not had a Meet and Greet. Sarah had her engagement ring on that night also but I never mentioned it at the time as it hadn't been formally announced.

She performed at the Northshore Music Festival on September 6.
Since we can't post videos they are available on Youtube. The 3 songs Sarah Joy sang were "Quando men vo" from our beloved La Boheme, "O soave Fanciulle"- not with David La Boheme, "and Barcarolle"
Here is the bio from the festival. I have highlighted some wonderful news disclosed.
Sarah Joy Miller, Soprano
American soprano Sarah Joy Miller, called “nothing less than breathtaking” by StarPulse.com, and “one to listen for” by the Tolucan Times, counts among her recent performances the role of Mimi in Baz Luhrmann’s Broadway La Boheme. The Los Angeles native has appeared as Fiordiligi, Musetta, Faust’s Marguerite, and in the title roles of Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor and Betly, with companies including The Ahmanson Theater of Los Angeles, The Broadway Theater of New York, California State University Northridge Theater, and the Haugh Performing Arts Center of California. Her most recent engagements include appearances as Violetta in La Traviata with Long Island Opera, Micaela in Carmen with New York Lyric Opera, Musetta at New York’s Symphony Space and a Concert Gala with New York Metropolitan Opera tenor, Marcello Giordani. She is currently working on her debut album of soprano arias with Maestro Steven Mercurio and the Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra in Pecs, Hungary. Ms. Miller will sing the role of Gilda in Rigoletto with Michigan Opera Theater in May (14- 22) of 2011.
Tickets are available except for opening night. I'm have emailed the theater but haven't heard anything back. I'll let you know when I do.
In 2010, Sarah Joy received award recognition from The Gerda Lissner Foundation, The Licia Albanese-Puccini Foundation and The Jensen Foundation. A finalist in the New York Metropolitan Opera Council Auditions (Los Angeles), Ms. Miller was also a winner in the Los Angeles Artist of the Future competition, and earned prizes in the Palm Springs Opera Guild Competition and the Elizabeth Parham Vocal Scholarship. Her “gorgeous coloratura” led the Desert Sun to praise her performance at the Palm Springs competition as “lyrical refinement”.
In concert repertoire, Ms. Miller has been heard with the Hong Kong Philharmonic, Radio Classica (Italy), the Palm Springs Opera Guild, Gilda’s Club New York and the Bel Air Presbyterian Church of California, in such works as Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Poulenc’s Gloria, Handel’s Messiah, Carconi’s Gloria, and Orff’s Carmina Burana (under the baton of renowned conductor Jorge Mester). With Three Graces, Sarah Joy toured the US, Mexico and Canada with the Britian’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts. She was heard with Il Divo’s David Miller and The Chicagoland Pops Orchestra, and appeared as a soloist with Andrea Bocelli and David Foster at the Vivere release event.
Sarah Joy is signed to Decca Records, and can be seen with Three Graces. Her performance on the debut album, which features production and songwriting contributions from some of the finest producers in the business — Walter Afanasieff (Mariah Carey, Celine Dion), Desmond Child (Bon Jovi, Ricky Martin), Guy Roche (Christina Aguilera, Michael Bolton) and Mark Portmann (Luis Miguel, Barbra Streisand) — was hailed as “nothing less than breathtaking” by StarPulse.com. Ms. Miller is a student of Bill Schuman.
I can't wait to hear when Sarah Joy's CD will be released.

So pleased Sarah Joy is now using her married name as a performer. I'm sure David is enjoying having the roles reversed and becoming her camp follower rather than she his!!
Actually Sue the Forum does allow you to give the YouTube links...just the permanent Mediafire/YouSendIt etc links are not allowed. Go figure!!!
I'll pop into YouTube and listen lkater. She really has a lovely voice. Hope we hear her singing again with David in the not too distant future!...now if they could sing together in either Vancouver at Christmas or in Toronto on the 28th/29th December that would be good for me, as I'm spending Christmas with my daughter and family in Canada and pooping in to see some of my Forum buddies in Toronto en-route home!!

I had the pleasure of sitting at a table next to David and Sarah Joy at The Hotel in Vegas. David did steal my jam. I went to get my son's attention in the lobby and when I got back to my table, it was gone. David laughed and apologized....saying he'd thought I'd left and it was fair game. They both apologized. They looked so happy and relaxed that I didn't bother them for pictures or autographs. Very nice experience.
when was this lucky encounter ?

I heard Sarah Joy was working on a new album.
I just wanted to know if anyone had any news on what type
of music she will be singing and when it will be released.
Also is there any news of her performing anywhere, particulary in NY?
I love it if she sings with IL Divo one day.
