Even other well know crossover artists are not at the top of the charts here in the US.
I really believe that people, especially women, in my age group, who went ga ga over the Beatles, would go ga ga over IL DIVO if they understood the lyrics of their songs.
For me they could sing in the language of any country in the world, or out of this world and I would buy their CD over and over again..........

As for Siempre, when I was in HMV recently they had loads of copies and I asked the guy about the album and he said they just keep topping up their stock on the floor and that it was constantly selling!
Good to hear!
I love David!!
That IS great to hear!!! Where do you live? Jane
Hi Jane,

I'm so proud of them :!:
In our country they had hit the top charts very fast and after 16 weeks they are still on position #60. Just to compare, U2 (that I love too) are in position #86 after the same amount of weeks :!: Simply amazing
Divine, divine.................
All the best to all of you enjoying them

Same thing at WalMart. They finally have a permanent display for IL Divo. But today I could not find it, because it was behind something else. So I pulled it all out and moved it to the front of the rack!
Don't mess with a Diva, he he! We make sure our guys are in the FRONT where they belong!

There is something special about this piece written by Bryan Adams, Robert John Lang, Michael Kamen and Rudy Perez. The track, arranged by Steve Mac, is a showpiece for acoustic guitar, performed here by Fredrik Karlsson.
Listening to Siempre’s Un Regalo Que te Dio la Vida, I felt as if I had stepped into a dream. Close your eyes and let your mind drift along the music to Madrid’s Plaza Mayor in one warm, moonlit night. There you are among the beautiful crowd, under the candle light, having dinner, zipping wine, or drinking coffee in one of the outdoor cafes/restaurants scattered all over inside the Plaza. The air was pleasant and the mood romantic with lovers holding hands and whispering adoringly to each other.
Then emerges a group of the university tuna; Carlos, David, Urs and Sebastian strolling in with their guitars. The lads are handsomely clad in traditional tuna’s black costume, adorn with colored ribbons flying from shoulders, and long black cape. The tunos, as a group, wonder, from table to table, serenading the beautiful signoras and signoritas with “Un Regalo Que te Dio la Vida”.
Listen to the guitar introduction and Sebastian’s passionate opening “Si ella te hace falta, como el agua, si es tu mayor necesidad”.
At 0:36, Urs’ singing, in upper register, floats lovingly and transparently “si no concibes vivir sin verla, sin dudar es la mujer que tu sonabas”.
Check out Carlos’ and his whispering flirtingly in lower range (1:30) “Si parati no hay otra, debes cuidarla, evitar hacerla llora”.
You cannot help but notice a coolness and sexiness in David’s deep, lower range when he sings (1:51) “y sera tuya hasta la muerte, ya veras que no se va y no traiciona”.
Back in Plaza Mayor, a beautiful flamingo dancer steps out and dances to the tune of the romantic guitar solo (3:06) with the soft, rhythmic tapping of castanets in the background. The dancer whirls herself around Urs when he sings longingly (3:26) “Si no concibes vivir sin verla sin dudar”, and disappears into the crowd.
The serenade ends with Sebastian’s singing tenderly “que conocerla fue un milagro un regalo que te dio la vida”.
The tuna takes a bow and exits through one of the Plaza’s entrances, alas, taking with them strings of the hearts of those remaining in the plaza.
(Note: The Spanish “tuna” musical groups are composed of university students dressed in traditional tuna’s costume representing the school of their respective institutions. This romantic tradition is dated back to the 13th century, during the reign of Alfonso VIII. In the old days, the groups wandered with their guitars through streets, plazas, squares or convents and entertained people in return for money or food. Often they would be singing beneath balconies, serenading the girls they had their eyes on.)
Mods: I was not sure where to put the above. Please feel free to move it to wherever you deem appropriate. Many thanks.

I am ecstatic to know that Ancora is #3 and Siempre #4. What a huge accomplishment!! I always said that Siempre was a work of exceptional art. The expertise of voices on that CD is highly creative and full of finesse. Just last week i introduce to a friend of mine from out of province Siempre and the dual CD/DVD. She never heard of it or ID. It was an instant love affair! And she bought it right away too. It felt highly pleasurable to introduce her to Il Divo. The next one just wait.. will be exceptional! My take.
Lots of love
Gaerielle
SEB'S BEAUTIFUL GODDESS
Kisses everyone xx
