i was saddened to hear Russell was suffering from health issues. i have his cd the voice: the ultimate collection and love it. i declare his voice changes to match the song. the way he sounds on the elvis song "can't help falling in love" is different from Nessun dorma etc. hope he is good health soon.saw a vid of Barcelona on youtube with shaun ryder (i think) great :)

Hi there,

I'm a newbie to this area of the forum and thought I'd join in!

Russell Watson is fairly new to me and was introduced to me by a friend of mine. He's not hugely popular in the US, but I do love his music. I read a on his site that he is taking longer to recover than they thought. Mods, I don't know if it's okay for me to post this, but I hope so.....Here's the statement.

Get well soon Russell!

Just The Two of Us - statement
Just The Two Of Us - OfficialStatement
Dear Russell fans,

Russell Watson has been advised by his doctor not to take part in the new series of the BBC1 show Just The Two Of Us.

Russell had been due to return for the new series starting in January 2007. However, Russellís doctor has advised him not to undertake the intensive schedule of rehearsals and live performances following his operation earlier this year to remove a tumour from his brain.

His recovery has taken much longer than anticipated and he has been under constant medical supervision since the operation ten weeks ago. Although he is desperate to perform in the show his overall health has been far more affected by the Pituitary Adenoma than first expected.

Russell is extremely disappointed that he is unable to take part, but realises that he must follow the medical advice and not commit to anything that could affect his recovery.

The specialists monitoring Russell, concerned about his health and wellbeing, have had to have the final word on this.

In the New Year, Russell hopes to focus on the rescheduled dates of his UK tour and complete the recording of his eagerly awaited new album, which is scheduled for release in March.

At the moment, I have two: "Magia Sara" and "Amore e Musica." But that is subject to change within minutes! 8)

Also, are we allowed to post pics here? I was just wondering, cuz I don't have any and would like some.....pretty please!

What's War of the Worlds anyway? Is that like a "Battle of the Bands" or something like that?

It's a musical by Jeff Wayne,i'd never heard of it until i heard Russell talking about it,then i booked,he only had a small part,Justin Hayward was there too,it's mainly music and it's not really my cup of tea but i was able to see Russell.
To the people who can get BBC1,Russell is being interviewed on "The two of us " tonight, finally some live contact.YES!!! :) :) :)

So nice to see him on 'Just the two of us' last night - interview and singing. Explaining why he didn't defend his title from last year due to his illness.

Yes, I got to see the clip of JTTOU. They posted it for his forum members. Russell looked great. So good to see him on the mend!

I feel for him though.....he said it was all still so fresh in his mind and was hard to talk about.
